St. Pat’s & Irish Cream

The first St. Patrick’s Day parade ever recorded in the colonies was March 18, 1737 in Boston, MA., as a political statement of discontent over low social status & inability to find jobs.

The first celebration of St.Patrick’s Day in New York was a parade held by British soldiers in 1762.

Since 1991, March has been declared Irish-American Heritage Month with the 17th being one of the busiest days of the year in bars across this nation.

Though now the wearing of the green is the tradition, St. Patrick was originally associated with the color blue.

Like Bailey’s Original Irish Cream

How about some Irish Cream Liqueur – yum! Mix it in a glass of milk, pour it over ice cream, drink it neat…

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Half & Half
  • 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 2/3 cups Irish Whiskey
  • 1 teaspoon Instant Coffee
  • 2 Tablespoons Chocolate Syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 teaspoon Almond Extract

Instructions:

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a blender; blend at high speed for about 20 seconds.
  2. Transfer to a clean bottle with a tightly fitting cap.
  3. Store, refrigerated, & shake well before using.
