College Grads, Grad School Grads, Law & Business School Grads are struggling with what to do with their lives. Educated far beyond what so many of us had the opportunity or inclination for, with no particular technical skill – as in doctor, lawyer, computer guru or even lawyer but doesn’t want to practice law, more interested in business. Add to this a job market that is so much more than difficult. For many of them it is no longer about making a living but about having a way of life that is more lifestyle-friendly, family-friendly, minimal sacrifice with maximum benefit.

It is difficult for me to listen to the discussions without pontificating about sacrifice & opportunity & not walking away from a job that pays because it’s not exactly what you want to do, but so far I’m exhibiting a bit of self-control. Job hunting is like climbing a tree – you just can’t be afraid to try.

#1 Son tells them that this is Radical Discontinuity – being out of their comfort zone will introduce & encourage creativity in their search for work. That is correct.

I say, “I’m praying for you. You’re going to be fine, guys.”

Now get out there! Slay the Dragon!
