Sparkling Raspberry Lemonade

July 18, 2011

“I’m sick of water! It’s boring!” A quote from DH & so many people, so I’m always trying ways to make water less boring or find some other hydrating beverage not loaded with sugar, chemicals or other untoward ingredients. I made this lovely sparkling raspberry lemonade recently for a bridesmaid luncheon which was a hit also with my prayer group.

Sparkling Raspberry Lemonade

  • 12 ounces frozen Raspberries
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1 cup fresh-squeezed Lemon Juice
  • 1 quart Sparkling Water, chilled
  • Fresh Raspberries, Lemon Slices for garnish

  1. In a medium saucepan combine raspberries, sugar & water.
  2. Bring to a slow boil over medium heat until raspberries are thawed & sugar dissolved.
  3. Reduce heat & simmer 3 minutes.
  4. Using a sieve, press the raspberry mixture to separate the seeds from the juice, pulp & syrup. Toss out the seed; the remaining we will call syrup.
  5. Combine raspberry syrup with lemon juice in a large pitcher.
  6. When ready to serve, stir in sparkling water.
  7. Pour into tall glass full of ice.
  8. Garnish with raspberry & lemon slice.
