It’s been another quick month & a hot one to boot!
The Fourth of July & Bastille Day, a wedding & DH’s roadtrip, feeding the birds, lots of photos & some frozen treats.

The year is moving on quickly now. We’re on the downward slide. Keep your running shoes/feet handy – it will be a sprint to the end!

Melon Wraps

It’s too hot to cook, so chill some melons & let’s get started.


  • 1 Watermelon
  • 1 Cantaloupe
  • Ham &/or Smoked Turkey Slices
  • Toothpicks
  • Fresh Spearmint or Peppermint, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Macadamia Nuts, coarsely chopped


  1. Cut melons open, removing seeds; Cube & place in large bowl.
  2. Slice the ham &/or turkey into strips that will fit around the melon cubes.
  3. Wrap melon in the meat & secure with a toothpick, placing these on a serving platter.
  4. Sprinkle mint & nuts over melon chunks remaining in the bowl.
  5. Chill & serve.
