Christmas Alphabet: P is for Peppermint

December 13, 2011

Peppermint

P is for Peppermint, is one of nature’s healthiest herbs, long used in medicines & foods, a holiday season favorite, most readily found in peppermint candy canes.

Candy cane

Is it a shepherd’s crook or a “J” for Jesus? Was the original candy cane a Christian symbol, most likely not, but as with so many other symbols & traditions, Christians have “redeemed” these things to tell His Story, The True Story of God’s salvation for the world.

Peppermint Whipped Cream

To top your slice of Chocolate Cream Pie or steaming cup of Hot Chocolate.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 2 Tablespoons Powdered Sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons Peppermint Schnapps

Instructions:

  1. Whip cream until soft peaks form.
  2. Gently beat in powdered sugar.
  3. Gently stir in schnapps.

Another trick to add that taste of Christmas, drop a piece of peppermint candy into your cup of coffee or tea. No need to add sugar.
