Tybee Island, GA

April 4, 2013

Since Savannah, GA is the fourth busiest & fastest growing seaport in the United States, we needed to take a trip to the beach. We checked the weather forecast the day we landed & decided to wait until later in the week before we visited Tybee Island.

Though a bit breezy, the temperature was fine, the sun was out & we hit the beach, after a big breakfast at The Breakfast Club. Oh my goodness, you must eat there when you visit the Savannah area! Delicious, not expensive, real food prepared by actual short-order cooks! Yum & yum again!

Firm sand makes walking on the beach easy & was good for the volleyball-playing college kids on Spring Break. I was more interested in the Buffleheads floating & diving under the waves. Bird-Nerd…I know.

There was a volunteer to have his photo taken. He flew in & posed right in front of me. Thanks, Gull.

B & J found a wooden swing, so they took refuge from the wind for some conversation & rest while P & C continued onward. The pelicans were resting on a sandbar, except this one on the post.

Jellyfish had washed ashore at high tide. One looked like a giant mushroom…

the other a gelatinous blob…

It was a floppy hat day for C & me.
