Good-bye Corian, Hello Granite

Thirteen years ago we bought our house while still under construction. The builder had already installed white kitchen cabinets & white Corian countertops.

I have loved my Corian. It is as white today as the day it was installed. It held up under extreme stress of me cooking 7 days a week for the family & catering out of this kitchen for a number of years.

However, since the house is going to be up for sale, the countertops in the kitchen & master bathroom must be updated with granite, or so I’m told.

I visited several granite suppliers & fabricators & choose the company who installed my dear friend Carole’s before she sold her house. Brothers & Sons Marble & Granite removed the existing Corian & bathroom marble, then installed the granite. All this without breaking the existing tile backsplash or the bathroom mirrors which were set right on top on the composite marble.

The entire job took about 6 hours. Then we had to install the new faucets & gas cooktop, or rather Tyler from Ben Franklin Plumbing did. Tyler arrived right on time & meticulously attached the new faucets, including improving a new Jacuzzi tub faucet connection by installing shut-off valves at the tub. Then to the kitchen – the faucet was no big deal. The new cooktop required a new gas line & that was it!

I highly recommend Brothers & Sons Marble & Granite & Ben Franklin Plumbers if you’re in the market for granite countertops or need plumbing assistance!
