I have always loved Clematis. But this Clematis, not!
It was planted by our mailbox & never, ever bloomed. It barely grew! So when we were prepping the house to sell last Spring, I dug it up, threw it in an empty pot & set it aside. I didn’t even cover the roots with dirt.
It made the trip to live at Carole & Harry’s home last year, then on the trailer to our property.
The unused pots were beside the barn & DH found this one with a plant sprouting leaves. He set it by his shepherd’s crook holding suet.
The next thing we know, the silly thing has climbed up the pole & has bloomed.
If I had only known it needed tough love all those years.
